The Northern Ontario Francophone Immigration Support Network creates links between organizations in all regions of Northern Ontario, such as: Timmins, North Bay, Sault Ste Marie & Thunder Bay, in order to to set up a system to facilitate the reception and integration of new arrivals.
The Northern Ontario Francophone Immigration Support Network (RSIFNO) is a program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). It facilitates francophone immigration and integration in minority settings by creating collaborative structures.
The Network does not provide direct services to newcomers. Its mandate is to support a local consultation process and to encourage partnerships for the development of projects that promote francophone immigrant integration. It works in the following areas: settlement and integration, employability, education, health, and arts and culture.
The Network collaborates with various partners to achieve among others, the following objectives: to ensure the economic integration of French-speaking immigrants within francophone communities and in Canada as whole, to ensure the social and cultural integration of French-speaking immigrants within francophone communities and in Canada as a whole.
