We are an all woman and Indigenous owned private childcare centre that emphasizes 'keeping it local' by choosing to purchase goods/services and partner with as many local businesses, makers, & creators that we can. It is important to us that we are always giving back to our community.

We offer an educational environment where your child will establish intrinsic motivation to fulfill their needs, become other oriented, and leave Nature's Nest capable, confident, and full of self love. Respecting the integrity of the child is at the forefront of what we do, each child is on their own unique learning journey and we ensure that their needs are met where they are at. A child who believes they are a part of the decisions that impact their day-to-day are children who become adept at emotional expression, problem-solving, and self-advocacy.

Building a connection to nature and the world around them creates a deep sense of belonging, and inclusion. Living in Northwestern Ontario provides an abundance of nature and wildlife that is both rural and urban. Educating children about where they live and how they can contribute to their community expands their 'comfort zones' to include their community at large.

We currently have two centres, and utilize a graduated system to introduce all Nature's Nest children to the concept of moving to new teachers and rooms as they age. Our toddlers, also knows as Seedlings & Sprouts occupy one centre, while our preschoolers also known as Buds & Sunflowers occupy our other centre, both centres are in Port Arthur.
