About Us

Situated at the corner of Cumberland and Park the historic Bank of Montreal building has been a fixture in downtown Thunder Bay for well over 100 years. The building was later repurposed and for the last quarter century it has been home to Prospector Steakhouse, serving some of city's best prime rib and steak to locals and tourists alike. Our vision at 27 Cumberland is simple - to do our part to help the continued revitalization of the downtown core, with hopes that the building itself could stand as a focal point . While already the current home of Prospector Steakhouse, the building is now also home to Prospector Brewing and its new venue The Brew Pub . With future plans of an outdoor patio and event space, 27 Cumberland is taking shape to be a multifaceted and multivenue destination hopping to add to Thunder Bay's exciting and exploding culinary scene.
Prospector Steakhouse has been serving Thunder Bay the best Prime Rib for over 25 years. We love what we do and the community we do it for!
